The car was bought as a Se7en but the decision was made to convert the car into a Se7en S Class. S Class is a new initiative witin the Mini 7 racing club that provides race cars with a longer life span albeit they are not as quick as the fastest Se7ens. The conversion involved:
- Scrapping/Selling the existing 1000cc engine and building a new 1293cc to S Class specification
- Changing over the AVO shock absorbers to mandatory Spax items
- Removing the existing rear anti-roll bar and fitting the mandatory item
- Removing the Exhaust system and manifold and replacing it with the mandatory Maniflow items.
When I say I converted the car I actually mean that the guys at Pitstop carried out the work. Special mention must go to Darren Thomas who tirelessly prepped the car and built the engine from scratch.
End result was the car seen below that debuted at Croft in September 2006.
